Ottawa is the capital city of Canada. It stands on the south bank of the Ottawa River in the eastern portion of southern Ontario.

Objective

Implementation of vISion portal, a highly customized project management solution used by the City staff, external consultants and contractors implemented to comply with the PIMS component of the City Strategic Plan.

Solution

This solution involves CA PPM, SharePoint and ecBoss (SharePoint integration tool with CA PPM). We were in charge of the implementation of SharePoint and ecBoss.
After the go-live we provided Support for vISion portal, starting August 2018. This involves the regular support activities and all the tasks to troubleshoot issues, resolve defects, maintenance activities and design and development activities focused on extending the functionality to meet the growing business needs related to the system. This support includes CA PPM, SharePoint and ecBoss.

Achievements

vISion portal is a highly customized solution that requires a good understanding of the business requirements, all technical moving parts and the security of the whole system. We successfully met the business requirements with a unique project management solution implementation that can be extended to address a growing number of present and future needs. We were responsible for:

• Technical design and implementation of the SharePoint portal component of vISion and the ecBoss SharePoint integration.
• Develop the custom interfaces, Jaspersoft report viewer in SharePoint and archival automation components (email eater).
• External user authentication and authorization, technical definition of the solution to support external users integration between SharePoint and CA PPM.
• Support and maintenance activities for vISion, including Level 1 and Level 2 support task for
  SharePoint, CA PPM and ecBoss.
